SAUGATA CHOUDHURY
FOUNDER
Saugata Choudhury is a self-taught artist and sculptor. After working in the corporate world as a management consultant for a decade, he decided to call it quits to co-found his dream project Interioscape. Saugata enjoys working with natural elements that inspire neat clear designs and inspire creativity. He is a natural visual storyteller and has a penchant for translating surroundings into unique spaces. He is associated with the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and has done a course on Interior Design and Decoration from the DIA. Saugata is also passionate about recreating discarded waste products into meaningful art in his free time.
OUR GOALS & APPROACH
MEET & IDEATE
Each project starts with an initial meeting with the client at the property. This is an initial opportunity to discuss the project in detail and take the brief. During the discovery meeting we learn about the client’s personality, their style and their individual lifestyle, tastes and aspirations – in essence, to learn what is important to them in creating the new scheme so that the finished project is a true reflection of them. This is also an opportunity to ensure that any issues are identified and discussed before work commences on the project. We also discuss outline budgets and time scale so that the project can progress smoothly. This meeting is followed up with a written proposal to the client. We believe that it is very important to engage and work together with our clients as the project evolves.
IDEATE & CONCEPTUALIZE
In response to the client’s brief, we create a concept scheme for discussion. This is generally presented in the form of draft layouts showing space utilisation, any structural modifications and furniture layouts. We produce mood boards to demonstrate colour schemes, wall and window treatments along with options for fabrics and finishes.
DESIGN CREATION
Once all elements in the concept design are agreed with the client, the project moves to the detail designing and specification stage. Every element of the scheme is designed and specified for the client to sign-off. We also arrange for all specified items’ sample for discussion and client approval. At this stage we also propose the accessories and finishes that may be required.
EXECUTION & INSTALLATION
The real fun begins as we enter the execution phase. We start with a detailed sequential execution plan with estimated timeline for each job which is followed by deploying the workforce and sourcing material as per the plan. We keep a close and continuous vigil on the work undertaken to avoid in unnecessary delay and expenditure. We typically conclude a project by sourcing and installing interior finishes that includes joinery, furniture, fabric, lighting and accessories, resulting in real space as per the design presented on concept boards.

We call this “design greatness.” Recognizing that every project demands a uniquely tailored response, we are highly rigorous in both our exploration and implementation. We think about each project like a story. From our initial idea to the final accessory, we start by taking a step back and really listening to our Client’s needs and desires.
